Some people are unsure what they have, they just want us to come fix it! We are happy to do so but here are some facts you may not know;
A Heater is typically what most people call the device that heats your home, which is in fact the Furnace.
An FAU (Forced Air Unit) or Furnace is the natural gas motor that makes your system run/operate. It is the air handler that blows the air through your home for either Central Heat and for Central Cooling. It is typically located in a closet in your hallway or in your attic.
If your system is in the closet or attic but is Electric, you most likely have a Heat Pump. The Heat pump is the electric motor that uses refrigerant from the condenser to transfer the heat energy through your system.
Air Conditioning unit is part of the central heating and cooling system. It draws heat energy out of the house and transfers it to the outside air. This can change temperature, the humidity or even the quality of the air in your home. The A/C cools with an outdoor compressor and condenser coil connected to the indoor FAU. The refrigerant passes through the device that converts it to a low-pressure, low-temperature liquid which returns to the indoor coil. This is called a cycle and it continues on and on while you have the system running.
